SAN JOSE – An iconic San Jose fast food eatery caught fire late Wednesday, the fourth time in recent memory, authorities said.

Crews were called to the Wienerschnitzel at 2844 Story Road about 11:10 p.m. for a report of a fire, said San Jose Fire Department spokesperson Erica Ray in an email.

Ray said the fire was placed under control around 11:30 p.m. and crews cleared the scene about an hour later.

No injuries were reported.

It wasn’t clear yet what sparked the fire, but arson investigators were probing the cause, Ray said.

Ray said at least four fires have been reported at the restaurant in recent years. One of the more recent blazes occurred in the early morning hours of April 6, when crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the roof. No injuries were reported.
