(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting the state’s biggest one-day new COVID-19 case count since January.
On Thursday, MDH confirms 2,140 new cases and 12 deaths statewide. For the St. Cloud area, this includes 286 new cases and two deaths: one Morrison County resident in their 60s and a Wright County resident in their 80s.
The last time the state reported more than 2,000 COVID-19 cases in one day was on January 10th.
Test positivity stays on an upward trend; out of the 43,117 COVID-19 tests processed yesterday, 5 percent returned positive results.
Meanwhile, about 30 percent of Minnesotans (1.6 million people) have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine. Nineteen percent of the state’s population is fully vaccinated.
